This is a case study of Sno-Isle Libraries’ utilization of communication technologies, and how these technologies address problems and opportunities in the libraries and archives industry.
Sno-Isle Libraries is a public library system that operates within the Snohomish and Island counties of Washington State. The library system contains 23 different locations that is spread among the two counties; additionally, a service center in Marysville, Washington, acts as the administrative and circulation center.
The case study will identify the primary problems and opportunities in the libraries and archives industry. Then, Sno-Isle’s implementation of communication technologies and how they address industry problems and opportunities will be examined. The case study will end with an overall conclusion and provide recommendations for how Sno-Isle may make better use of communication technologies to address current and future problems and opportunities within the libraries and archives industry. A list of references is also included, as well as a brief bio and contact information of the author.
